Hi, I know that the district of birth variable exists for the Indonesia Population Census 2000 and 2010 based on the documentation in Statistics Indonesia Bureau’s website. Is it possible to get access to this data from IPUMS?
IPUMS International does not yet offer birthplace with more detailed geographic identifiers as harmonized variables, but you can access the unharmonized versions of these variables by including the corresponding source variables in your data extract: ID2010A_BTHDIST and ID2000A_BPLREG (image of how to browse source variables instead of harmonized variables is below). Please note that the source variables have not been spatially harmonized and may not represent the same exact geographic boundaries between the two time periods.
