Why is there no place of birth variable (regency level 4 digits) for Indonesia to download?

Hi,

I’m looking for place of birth variable for Indonesia which goes down to the regency level (4 digits). The question exists in the questionnaire but why can’t I find it on the IPUMS website?

While there are no such integrated variables, the unharmonized variables for regency of birth are available in IPUMS-International. Go to the “Variable Selection” page and navigate to the “Nativity and Birthplace” variables in the “Person” dropdown menu. Then, press the “Unharmonized variables” button to display the additional birthplace variables, which include the regency of birth variables found in the Indonesian questionnaires.
