ACS and CPS release schedules

Hi all

I was just wondering what the release schedules for ACS and CPS files are and why they differ?
I am working with CPS data up until 2019, however, the ACS data are only available until 2017 which poses a bit of a hurdle. Why is that the case? When would the next waves be released?

The ACS data and the CPS data are two separate data collection efforts. The ACS data is an annual component of the US Census. The CPS is primarily a monthly labor force survey and includes an annual supplement (e.g., the ASEC). This is why they follow different release schedules. The next ACS sample will likely be available on IPUMS USA before the end of the calendar year.
