For the South Sudan mortality available here (https://international.ipums.org/inter...), is it correct to assume these are the values for the PREGD variable?
1 = Death by pregnancy
2 = Death within 2 months of delivery
I could not find a codebook for this data.

According to the census form 1 = yes, 2=no.
Yes means the death occurred during pregnancy, delivery, or the first 2 months after delivery.
