Is there any reason the SPM variables aren’t included on todays 2024 1-year data release? Do these variables get added later based on imputation or something?
The SPM variables are released in a separate file by the Census Bureau several months after the microdata are released. We expect the SPM variables for the 2024 1-year ACS data will be released in the first half of 2026, and we will work quickly to process and release them via IPUMS USA once they are available. The release will be announced on our revision history page and in an email to registered IPUMS users.
