Hi IPUMS,
I recently was granted access to the international data, but it seems that “incearn” and “incwage” is missing for the majority of the countries besides the US? The weird part is that I’m not selecting small countries-- I’m using big European ones like France and Germany. Any idea or suggestions how to get the wage data?
Data in IPUMS International come from national censuses. It is uncommon for censuses to include information about wage or income, so the variable is available in very few countries from IPUMS International. You may be able to get categorized income information from European labor force surveys through Eurostat. The Luxembourg Income Study (LIS) also has income information for upper- and middle-income countries.
