I would like to select cases along the CITIZEN variable. It is not an option when I click on Select Cases, why?

I’ve selected 36 variables and 2 samples (Mar 2011 and 2012). I am interested in selecting cases along the CITIZEN variable, so that the data will only reflect persons who are naturalized citizens (CITIZEN=2) and persons who are not citizens (CITIZEN=3). However when I click on “Select Cases” to choose cases fitting the mentioned criteria, CITIZEN does not come up as an option. Other variables do such as AGE, EMPSTAT, but not CITIZEN. How do I go about selecting only those cases that are CITIZEN=2 and 3?

It appears as though this is a result of a technical error on our part. We’ll get this fixed as soon as possible, but it likely won’t be corrected until the next time we update our data. Until then, you won’t be able to select cases based on the CITIZEN variable. I apologize for any inconvenience that this causes.
