I was planning on using data from the newest round of the DHS in Lesotho (2023-24 LDHS) but cannot access the data via the DHS program anymore due to Trump’s decision to pause all foreign assistance.
The newest DHS is not directly available at IPUMS DHS. Does someone know if there is a way for me to access it either throught the IPUMS or elsewhere?
As you note, IPUMS DHS has not yet integrated the 2023-2024 Lesotho data. The data are listed as available on The DHS Program’s data access page. My understanding is that The DHS Program is not currently reviewing requests from new users or requests for additional data (i.e., new countries) for previously approved users. I am uncertain if users previously approved for accessing a country’s data have access to newly released samples from that country (i.e., if you are approved for the 2014 Lesotho data, it is possible that you will also have access for the 2023-2024 Lesotho data).
