Can I delete previously created time use variables?
Our system does allow you to delete time use variables. Click on “My ATUS” in the top navigation bar; then click on “My Time Use Variables.” From there you can see the time use variables you’ve created (click on the variable name to see more detailed information) and you can delete any time use variables you no longer want to use.
Has the interface changed since this question was answered? I would like to be able to either delete, rename or overwrite previously created time-use variables, but there doesn’t seem to be an option for doing so.
The IPUMS Time Use interface has changed slightly since this previous response. You can see a complete list of your customized time use variables if you go to the Select Data page. Under the “Time Use” drop-down menu select the “My Time Use Variables” option. This will show a list of your time use variables. On the right-hand-side there is an option to delete.
