You wrote to me that the health insurance coverage survey questions for the CPS were redesigned in 2014. Is this true of the ACS as well? I noted a distinct increase in the coverage in NYC for the construction industry when I ran hcovany x year. Is this the result of a change in the questions so that this upward shift is not meaningful?
The questions identifying health insurance coverage are distinctly different between the ACS and CPS. As the comparability section of the HCOVANY variableindicates, this variable should be comparable across the years 2008 - onward.
