Hello,
I am using NHIS 2008-2018 with Stata 17.
For poverty variable (Ratio of family income to poverty threshold), codes 12 and 13 are both labeled as ‘13’ rather than what appears should be ‘.50 to .74’ and ‘.75 to .99’, respectively. Is there a reason for this? Any recommendations of what I should do?
Thanks,
Charles
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. While the underlying data are correct, the Stata-formatted file was not applying the correct labels to the POVERTY variable. Note that any fixed width data files you submitted and read in with a corresponding the syntax file should have been applying the labels correctly. We have updated the labels accordingly; if you resubmit your data request, the labels should be correctly applied to these codes.
