Merged Outgoing Rotation Groups 1979-1981

Apologies if this covered somewhere and I missed it.

I’m interested in the Outgoing Rotation Group earnings data beginning in 1979. It looks like IPUMS has this data beginning in 1982, while 1979-1981 is missing. Is that correct? Any particular reason for this? If that’s the case, I suppose I can go back to the original NBER data files. But I’m wondering if there’s something I missed here.

We hope to add the ORG variables to the 1979-1981 CPS data in the future, but I do not have an estimated timeline for this work. For now, you should access the 1979-1981 MORG from NBER.
