merge IPUMS data with other cross country datasets

I am working on a project using all the IPUMS samples and would like to add a number of country specific indicators (such as income from the Penn World Tables). Has anyone done this?

If you just want to add the country-level variables onto each person record within that country, it may be as simple as doing a many-to-one merge. This pdf explains how this process is performed in STATA. Just make sure that the country codes of your country-level dataset match the country codes in IPUMS-International.
