Is it possible to access the birth year (not just age) in the Portugal 1981 census?

The documentation posted by the National Statistical Office of Portugal on the Census samples indicates that both the year of birth and age would be available. However, in the IPUMS dataset on Portugal 1981 I can only find the variable age of the respondent, not the birth year. Is it possible to get access to the year of birth?

Thanks for the question. You are right that the census collected information about date of birth. However, the data in the sample provided to IPUMS International includes only age. Sorry, IPUMS doesn not have date of birth for the Portugal 1981 sample.
