What is the variable for private dependent coverage other than as a dependent of a spouse living in the same household?
I am assuming you are referring to the data available via IPUMS CPS in this question. Please let me know if I am mistaken. I am also not sure if I completely understand your question, but the PRIVDEP variable indicates whether the respondent had coverage as a dependent from privately purchased health insurance. You can identify spouses by RELATE variable or the IPUMS-defined family interrelationship variables.
