India India Census Samples No Longer Available - Status Update?

Hi,

I noticed that the India census samples are no longer available on the IPUMS website. Could you please clarify if this is due to data maintenance or if there are other reasons for their removal?

If this is temporary, do you have an estimated timeline for when the India samples will be restored?

The India samples in IPUMS International are actually from a large household-employment survey instead of the Census. On the Select Samples page, you should find them listed under the “Surveys” tab.

Thanks! I remembered that IPUMS had full census data for India a few years ago. Is IPUMS still collecting full census data from India?
