If there a way to calculate medians in CPS using your SDA analysis tool?
I don’t think there is, though a similar tool used with the Survey of Consumer Finances via UC Berkeley does (follow link below–and go to “Comparison of Means,” which has a “Median” option).
When IPUMS asks for feedback, I always request that they add this functionality and it would presumably help if you chimed in. IPUMS staff seem open to the idea, but I assume it’s a question of time, funding and priorities.
There is a way, although it only works when tabulating one variable not multiple variables. If you select the “Summary Statistics” box under Table Options the median value will be presented for the entire table. For more details on the summary statistics options see this help file.
