I know how to download the data into an excel file, but it still only shows up as codes corresponding to different information. Is there a way of translating the codes into what the data is?
I am not aware of a method for applying labels to data within Excel. Using the codebook that is generated with your extract, you can apply labels to tables and figures by simply replacing the numeric value with the appropriate label. You may try searching excel user forums for tips on applying value labels to numeric data. For the most part however, editing cell values is not recommend as this could unintentionally alter values. It may be best to apply labels to resulting figures.
