I’m using IPUMS-CPS to estimate the total number of people employed in the manufacturing sector at several points in time.
When I use SDA, supplying ‘year’ as the row variable and “ind1990(100-392)” as the selection filter, I get a year-by-year listing of the population I’m looking for. But since this is an aggregate figure drawn from a sample, is there a way to know what the margin of error is?
