If I want to find out if the participants have health insurance coverage, should I pick 1 or 2?
I agree, this is a bit confusing. The variable HINOTCOVE identifies whether the person currently lacks health insurance coverage. So, if you want to identify individuals who HAVE health insurance you should pick HINOTCOVE == 1 “has coverage”.
