Since the data are made available via IPUMS International as they are provided by the national statistical agency in Vietnam, I’m not able to provide a detailed mapping. However, we do have several source variables for education attainment (VN1999A_GRADE and VN2009A_EDATTAIN) as well as harmonized education attainment variables (EDATTAIN and EDUCVN), that may be helpful to you.
