Some journals require data to be shared with them. I wanted to ask if users are allowed to share data with journals. Thank you.
The data redistribution policy varies by IPUMS data collection, but you can consult the IPUMS Terms of Use for details on any given data collection. I encourage you to contact ipums@umn.edu with information about which IPUMS data collection you are using and the samples and variables in your data file that you would like to redistribute for a more specific answer. If you have a specific data file you would like to redistribute, share that information so we may review the request.
