Block-group-level data on (a) Single vs. multi housing units, and (b) home ownership

Hi all,

I’m looking for census block group-level data that breaks out the n of housing units (readily available) into:

(a) single vs. multi-family homes, and
(b) owner occupied vs. renter occupied,
And, ideally, with the owner / renter occupied, broken out across Sinlge vs. Multi Family homes

I’ve been scouring the ACS5 from 2021, and they have all sorts of stats on Owner-occupied and renter-occupied costs and stuff, which suggest that have the actual housing units tagged to owner- vs renter occupied. But I cannot find those base stats anywhere.

All thoughts welcome and appreciated!

Be well!
Dean

Dear Dean,

The Tenure data (owner vs. renter occupied) is in table B25003. Tenure. If you use the Topic filter for Tenure and the Dataset filter for 2017_2021_ACS5a, you can easily access this table.

For the single family vs. multi-family data, I think B25024. Units in Structure will work for you. If you use the Topic filter for Units in Structure or At Address and the Dataset filter for 2017_2021_ACS5a, you can easily access this table.

Sincerely,
