Weights for mortality analysis

Is it possible to use MORTWT in the SDA online tabulation program for the NHIS? The weight section of the analysis platform gives you the option of choosing from a list of weight variables. However, MORTWT is not on that list and there doesn’t seem to be any way of just typing it in.

Thanks for asking about this. Mortality weights are not currently available for IPUMS NHIS in the SDA tool; however, it is possible to add them. The IPUMS NHIS team plans to incorporate MORTWT and MORTWTSA to the online tabulator in the near future (hopefully in the next month).
