Variable for Child Gender

I am attempting to utilize some of the same data used in the paper cited below. However, I am having a difficult time finding the data for the gender of a household’s firstborn child even though the referenced paper utilized that exact variable from CPS in 1980. Does this variable exist and, if so, how can I access it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can find this information in the variable FRSEX1. This is available in June of 1980, 1990, and 1995. In order to add this variable to your extract, you will need to add one of these samples to your extract.
