Variable FIRMSIZE vs NOEMP from the CPS

Hello, I am trying to use your data to estimate population numbers by coverage type and employer size. I’m using IPUMS-CPS March 2011 data. I noticed that your FIRMSIZE variable has different size categories than the NOEMP variable that would correspond to the analogous March 2011 CPS dataset. Is there a way to get a variable from you which has the same employer size categories as the variable NOEMP?

We create FIRMSIZE using NOEMP in the March 2011 data. It looks like the labels for NOEMP were changed in 2011, and it appears as though we missed this change. Thus, in 2011, our code 2 actually represents 10 to 49, and our code 4 actually represents 50 to 99. We’ll get this fixed as soon as we can. I apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused.
