UP Michigan counties: ethnicity, marriage, education since 1880s

UP Michigan’s Houghton and Keweenaw counties. Where to find info on ethnicity/land of birth, marriage, education level etc. since the 1880s?

I have special interest in American Finns in the area. Other ethnies are interesting also.

Unfortunately, it looks like IPUMS USA may not have all of the information you are looking for on Houghton and Keweenaw counties in Michigan. Neither is an identifiable county from 1950 onward. For confidentiality purposes, counties are not identified in public-use microdata from 1950 onwards. More information about counties in IPUMS USA, along with a spreadsheet of identifiable counties from 1950 onward, can be found here. However, between 1880 and 1940, you should be able to gather most of this information using either a custom extract or the online analysis tool. Variables such as birthplace (BPL) and marital status (MARST) are available for this time period.

You may want to look into what is available through IPUMS NHGIS. IPUMS NHGIS provides spatially aggregated census data and has tables for many of the topics you are looking for at the county level. However, these tables may not cover all of your topic interests at once.
