I was told the equivalent to the UNICON wgt variable (March supplemental person weight) here was asecwt, but asecwt is only available for the ASEC data. If I want to use all data and not only the ASEC, what is the weight variable I should use?
The ASEC supplement and the basic monthly samples are actually two distinct samples. So, when you are beginning your analysis you’ll want to make a choice between either using data from the ASEC samples or the basic monthly samples. This choice will determine which person-level sampling weight you should use. If you are using ASEC data, you should use the ASECWT variable. If you are using basic monthly data, you should use the WTFINL variable. More detail about the design of the Current Population Survey is available here.
