Summary stats exported into latex accounting for census weights?

Hello IPUMS team,

This is not a specific question about IPUMS but any input would be valued. I’m writing a paper using census data from your website. The sampling is complex, so that I account for it using the svy command in stata. The regressions are fine.

I’m finding it hard to find a command in stata for producing summary stats that can be combined with svy (usually I would use estpost tabstat and export into latex). I could use svy mean and make some calculations for s.d. but I would still need to manually convert into latex output.

I thought I would check with you in case you have some go-to commands you generally use.

The estat command calculates post-estimation statistics for survey data. After submitting the command “svy: mean”, you can then use the command “estat sd” to estimate the population standard deviation. See this FAQ from Stata for a longer discussion and alternatives.
