I am interested in obtaining second-level Indonesian shapefiles for 2015 or 2016. I was wondering if someone could tell me where IPUMS obtained their 2005 and 2010 second-level shapefiles, so that I can return to this source and see if they have 2015 or 2016 shapefiles.

The GIS boundary shapefiles are constructed based on information provided to IPUMS International by the various national statistical agencies. Since IPUMS International currently does not provide access to the 2015 and 2016 samples from Indonesia, the shapefiles are also not available. In the case of Indonesia, the data are provided by the Central Bureau of Statistics.
