NHIS alcohol questions

Greetings,

In the recent years of NHIS (e.g. 2016 and 2017), there is a variable:

ALC5UPYR

“In the PAST YEAR, on how many DAYS did you have 5 or more drinks of any alcoholic beverage?”

As is noted on the Survey Text tab, the original NHIS instrument variable name for the IPUMS HEALTH SURVEY variable ALC5UPYR is ALC5UPNO. The question relating to this variable can be found on page 18 of the 2017 NHIS Sample Adult Questionnaire.
