Is there a way to identify whether or not someone was born outside of the US in 1980/1990 with the CPS ASEC data?

I am trying to make some variables that condition on whether someone was born outside of the US in the years 1980 and 1990 using the CPS ASEC samples. Is there a variable that I can use to identify individuals born outside of the US for thoses years?
