I am trying to summarize median income for Asian groups. Who in the family does INCTOT refer to?

I am using ACS 5 year pooled sample. I have a sample of 100,000 individuals, belonging to either the same or different families. So when it comes to INCTOT how do I know which person is answering?

INCTOT provides a total income value for each individual (age 15 and older). FTOTINC is the summation of all family members INCTOT values. Every person (age 15 and older) within a family should have an INCTOT value, regardless of role within the family.
