I’m having trouble accessing the data I downloaded on my mac. The file is csv.gz file and at first I used Utility Archive as it’s the only system on my computer that can uncompress this file, however I kept getting the Error -79 message. I looked online and some suggested using Terminal to access the file, however, when I used Terminal it informed me that permission was denied. I don’t know what else to do and would really appreciate someone giving me a hand.
By default, our data are compressed and fixed-width files (*.csv.gz). You will need to decompress or unzip them before using them. I recommend 7zip as a free decompression software for Windows and The Unarchiver for Macs. You may also want to confirm that the file download was complete.
