How long will the IPUMS use application review take?
An application review typically takes a few days, sometimes longer, based on demand at any given time. Please be patient and if you haven’t seen a response in about week, please send us a note at ipums@umn.edu.

The timeframe has changed somewhat since 2016 and account review and approval now typically take about one week. However, if you haven’t heard back within a week we still ask that you send an email to ipums@umn.edu so we can look into it. Approval takes time as applications to access IPUMS International data have to be reviewed by staff to ensure the proposed research projects are appropriate as per agreements with the original data providers.
