I’m trying to spread the results of the household head characteristics to everyone living in the household. I am able to do this using the relate variable in the US census data, but am unable to do so using Canadian census data.
Respondents in the Canadian samples are not organized into households, unlike most of our other samples. In other words, it isn’t possible to determine which respondents resided in the same household. Because of this, there is no way to apply characteristics of the household head to other persons in the household.
