How can I map birthplace BPLD country from ACS 2010-2012 on a world map?

The shapefiles (IPUMSI_world.shp) use different country codes than are used for ACS bithplace (BPLD). Are there other shapefiles available that use the BPLD codes? Is there a better method to link BPLD for creating a world map?

Unfortunately, a BPLD shapefile does not exist. Instead, you could create a crosswalk from BPLD to the IPUMS-I country codes using the country names found in the IPUMSI_world.shp file.
