Greetings! Our project is using ‘fshwtscale’ variable to generate state-level aggregate child food insecurity prevalence. Can anyone please share about what kind of weight is ‘fswtscale’ (sampling or analytic weight) or point me towards the documentation on this topic?
Thanks,
Arun
FSHWTSCALE (and most weights provided by IPUMS) is a sampling weight. This weight accounts for the probability that a given respondent is included in the sample. Sampling weights are also called probability weights, and should be used as pweights in Stata. You can read more about weights in IPUMS CPS here and more about different types of weights in Stata here.
@Isabel_Pastoor, many thanks for answering my question.
