What are the codes for ‘01’, ‘02’, ‘03’, and the rest? Only ‘00’ (No father of this person present in household) is explained! I am looking to make sense of this Data, but it seems it is not as simple as ‘present’ or ‘not present’.

Non-zero values of POPLOC give the PERNUM of the person’s father within the household. So if the person lives in household SERIAL number 33451, and POPLOC==2 that means that the person’s father can be identified as PERNUM==2 & SERIAL==33451 (within a single data set). If you simply want to know whether or not a person’s father is present in the household, any value other than zero indicates that the father is present.
