Should the ADJUST variable be used when calculating median earnings? And is there another variable if I were to want income related to housing?
ADJUST is applicable to all of the earnings/ income variables in the ACS data. However IPUMS does not recommend using this variable, for reasons described on this page. Long story short, whether or not you use ADJUST shouldn’t make much difference for your estimates.
