Can I create a custom extract based on specific occupations in the CPS? I only need 50 specific ones

When I go to the define cases section whe prepping my extract, I can only see states as my defining characteristic

Unfortunately, the “Select Cases” tool does not apply to occupation variables. Currently only a sub-sample of IPUMS integrated variables work with the Select Cases tool. So, you will have to limit your sample by occupation within your preferred statistical software once you’ve downloaded your IPUMS extract. The good news is that this should be relatively easy and can be executed with one or two lines of code.
