Hi all,
I’m working with a multinational MTUS extract that includes the Bulgaria 2001 sample and have run into what looks like a discrepancy between the CTUR documentation and what’s actually in the data. Hoping someone can confirm whether this is a known issue or whether I’m misunderstanding something about the harmonisation.
The problem: the CTUR documentation for Bulgaria 2001 indicates that education activity codes should be available in the MAIN variable. However, when I load the data and check time spent in education-related MAIN codes, I get zero observations.
Thanks,
Hadin
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I can confirm that while the documentation provides codes for education-related activities such as MAIN = 15 (“Regular schooling, education”) and MAIN = 16 (“Homework”), the data file itself does not include any activity records with these codes. I am reaching out to my colleagues as well as to our CTUR contacts to determine how these activities were coded and will follow-up with further details.
Our contacts at CTUR appreciate bringing this issue to their attention and are carrying out a thorough check of the syntax and source files. I will provide an update here once I have information and if any revisions will be implemented. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Appreciate your help in this matter!
