The 1910 US census does not have information on the group quarter types. When I download the dataset, I can see that there is a variable for the group quarter status, but it only takes the values of 1, 2 and 4. Why there is not information for institutional group quarters (group quarter status=3)? Thanks a lot
As the 1910 full count file is still a preliminary release, there are few variables that are not yet available. GQTYPE has not yet been fully coded but will become available in a future release of the data, at which point institutions will also be identifiable. I do not currently have an expected date of release, unfortunately.
