Other students in my class are able to see which years a variable is available for when clicking on a variable. I am not able to see this, is it something I need to adjust in settings?
The default display for IPUMS NHIS is to only display variables available for the sample you have selected. You can view availability regardless of sample selection by selecting additional samples or changing the default display to show variables that are not available for your selected samples (see below for finding display options and changing the default settings).
