Sampling and interviewing for the National Health Interview Survey are continuous throughout each year, which means respondents can be given the survey during any month.
Information about the month of a respondent’s NHIS interview is found in the variable INTERVWMO. A relatively small number of persons were interviewed in the year after the sample year. These individuals can be identified by the variable INTERVWYR.
