Retirement variable in ATUS?

Is there a way to easily measure current retirement status of ATUS respondents?

RETIRED seems to only be asked of people who were retired 2-5 months prior, so doesn’t capture anyone who may have retired since then.

There seems to be a spouse-variable that indicates retirement, but not seeing something comparable for respondents.

You could potentially use the LOOKING variable which was asked of all non-employed ATUS respondents age 15 and over and includes “Retired” as a possible response.
