New ACS pointer variables?

Hi Jeff, In response to a recent question I posted on the forum, you stated:

IPUMS-USA plans to add some new pointers within the next 6 months, similar to those within CPS, that should improve family linking with unmarried partners.

Will there be an email notification regarding these new variables? Or do I have to check back every so often? An update page?

Yes, as with any new data or variables, when they are ready and ultimately released, an email will be sent out to users notifying the new variables and data. These ‘update’ emails can sometimes be delayed, so it may be worth while to check the website periodically.
