N.e.c. for occupations

Hello, I understand that n.e.c. means not elsewhere classified, but I’m curious what this notation means for occupation, such as OCC1950 code 93 is ‘Teachers (n.e.c.)’. How should this be interpreted?

If you search the labels for “teacher,” you’ll find the following codes for OCC1950:

004 Artists and art teachers
031 Dancers and dancing teachers
057 Musicians and music teachers

Teachers (N.E.C.) should contain all other teachers.

Other occupation codes with N.E.C. will have a similar pattern.
