Kenya 2019 - Missing "IND" Variable Codes and Broken Link

Hello,

I’m currently working with the “IND” variable for Kenya 2019. While your website indicates that codes for Kenya 2019 are available, I’ve encountered two issues:

  1. The provided link to these codes is not working
  2. The codebook for Kenya 2019 does not include a code reference for the “IND” variable

Could you please look into this?

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The link in the codes tab is incorrect and should instead reference coding for KE2019A_0466. You can refer to this page for coding of IND in this sample. Since IND codes industries using the original data provider’s classification system (i.e., it is unharmonized) our codebooks are unable to provide labels for this variable. For comparison, the codebook is able to provide labels for extracts that include INDGEN since this variable harmonizes industries into comparable groups such that the same code refers to the same set of industries across samples.
