Which variable would be the most appropriate to use for individual wealth?
There are numerous income variables and several earnings variables available in the CPS, but nothing that cleanly identifies wealth. You may be able to create a rough proxy for wealth by combining some of the economic characteristics of each household, but there may be a substantial amount of error in this proxy variable.
